Introduction
At Skillz Play Football Coaching, the safety and well-being of our players is our top priority. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants, both on and off the field. This safeguarding policy outlines our approach to protecting children, young people, and vulnerable people involved in our Sessions. We subscribe to The Football Association’s (The FA) Safeguarding Children – Policy and Procedures and endorse and adopt the Policy Statement contained in that document.
Purpose
The purpose of this safeguarding policy is to:

Responsibilities
Coaches and Staff

Ensure a safe and supportive environment during all sessions.

Be vigilant and report any concerns about a players welfare.

Engage in regular safeguarding training.
Parents and Guardians

Support and reinforce the safeguarding measures in place.

Communicate any concerns regarding their child’s welfare to the appropriate staff member.
Players

Respect fellow players, coaches, and staff.

Report any concerns or incidents they witness or experience.

Procedures
Recruitment and Training

Conduct thorough background checks on all staff and volunteers.

Provide regular safeguarding training and updates for all personnel.
Reporting Concerns

Immediate Action: If a participant is in immediate danger, contact emergency services.

Report to Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO): All concerns should be reported to the DSO, who will assess and act accordingly.
Responding to Incidents

Take all allegations seriously and respond promptly.

Maintain confidentiality and only share information with those who need to know.

Follow up with appropriate authorities if necessary.
Monitoring and Review
This safeguarding policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains effective and up-to-date. Feedback from staff, participants, and parents will be incorporated into the review process.
